The uploading process is used from your site admin to upload your Logo,
Other Site Photo, Your Personal Photo and Listings Photos. The process is the same
for each of these. We will cover uploading your photo and Listings photos in the
steps below. Use the same process for your Logo and Other Site Photo.
In order to upload photos to your site, you will need to have the photos
saved on your computer so you can access them from the steps below for upload. The
photo(s) can also be located on a Floppy Disc inserted into your "A" drive,
permitting you to access them for download. It is important for you to know the
location of the photo(s) on your computer to perform the following steps. Navigating
your computers files is a common thing. If you need help learning this, check with
people around you, as you will likely find someone to help you quickly.
- To Upload your photo, use the "Upload Your Photo" link from
your main admin screen. For your Listings photos, use the link located above
the listing after clicking on the "edit" link for the Listing you would like to
upload photo(s) for.
- You will see a dialog box that has brief instructions on uploading.
Towards the bottom of this box is a text box that will contain the directory path to your
photo(s) when you complete this step. Using the "Browse" button next to
this box will open a "Choose File" Dialog box to be used to navigate to the
directory where the photo is located. Using the "Look In" drop down,
choose the "C" or "A" drive, depending on where your photo is
located. You will then need to select the "Folder" from the large window
by double clicking on the Folder that your photo is located in. If your image is not
in a folder, it will be visible without opening a folder. Now select the image by
clicking on the file name once. This will place the image name in the "File
Name" box. Now click on the "Open" button. NOTE: If you
don't see your file, you may use the "Files of Type" drop down and select
"all files", this will then display all the files in the current folder or
directory.
- Now you will see that the "Upload Your Photo" dialog box at the
bottom of the Upload Tool shows the directory path to your image. Click on the
"Upload" button to start the Upload process. After a short time (depending
on the speed of your connection to the internet) you will be presented with your
photo. Below your photo will be a link to return to your admin page.
Uploading photos for your Listings is done the same way, except you are
presented with 2 browse buttons, allowing you to select 2 photos to go with each
listing. The dialog boxes used to upload your Logos and Other Site Photo work the
same way.
The maximum file size allowed for uploads is 100,000 bytes. (That's 1/10
of a Meg) If you get an over size error, you will need to optimize your photo in
order to upload it. Most photos are below this limit.
